Linear guideway (linear rails), as core components of precision linear motion, are primarily classified based on rolling element type, structural height (assembly method), locking method, and dimensional specifications to meet the diverse needs of different equipment in terms of load-bearing capacity, rigidity, precision, installation space, and cost.

The core classifications are as follows:

Classification by Rolling Element Type

Ball-type guides: Use steel balls as rolling elements, such as the HGH, HGW, EGH, EGW, HGL, MGN, and MGW series. They are characterized by low frictional resistance, smooth movement, and excellent high-speed performance, making them suitable for most high-precision, high-speed general-purpose applications.

Roller-type guides: Use cylindrical rollers as rolling elements, such as the RGH and RGW series. They are characterized by a large contact area, extremely high rigidity, load-bearing capacity, and impact resistance, making them suitable for demanding working conditions requiring heavy-duty cutting machine tools and large equipment.

Classification by Structural Height (Assembly Method)

High-Assembly Type Sliders: Such as HGH, HGW, HGL, HGR, RGH, RGW series. The overall height of the slide block is relatively high, resulting in greater rigidity and load capacity. This is the standard choice for most machine tools and industrial equipment.

Low-Assembly Type Sliders: Such as EGH, EGW series. The overall height of the slide block is relatively low, saving vertical installation space. Suitable for compact designs where the overall height of the equipment is limited.

Classification by Locking Method and Special Structure

Top-Lock Type (Standard): Most series use screws that lock from the top of the slide block.

Bottom-Lock Type Sliders: Such as the HGR-T series. Screws lock from the side or bottom of the slide block. Suitable for applications where the top of the slide block cannot be accessed or where a worktable needs to be mounted from above.

Miniature Sliders: Such as MGN, MGW series. Compact in size, designed for applications where space and weight are extremely sensitive, such as precision instruments, small automated equipment, robots, and optical platforms.

The linear guide product matrix determines core performance through rolling elements (balls/rollers), adapts to space constraints through assembly height (high/low), and meets specific installation requirements through special structures (locking type, miniaturization). Users can select the most suitable series based on a comprehensive evaluation of load, rigidity, speed, accuracy, and installation conditions.
